The project EE Pannonia – „Elaboration of joint energy efficiency action plan for the border region by municipalities, involving the local communities” is implemented in the framework of the Hungary – Croatia IPA Cross-Border Co-operation Programme 2007-2013. The international cooperation started on 1st of December, 2013 with the partnership of the Lead Beneficiary South Transdanubian Innovation Agency Nonprofit Ltd, the City of Osijek and the Regional Energy Agency North.
The opening conference of the project was organized on 23rd of January, 2014 in Pécs (Hungary) at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences' Regional Committee of Pécs with the participation of the project partners, stakeholders and the media. The event was opened by Dr. Zsolt Páva, Mayor of Pécs followed by the welcome speeches of Ružica Ivanković, Consul of the Republic of Croatia in Pécs and of Tamás Kocsis, managing director of the South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency.
Katalin Iványi, the project manager of the South Transdanubian Regional Innovation Agency introduced the project’s main objectives, strategy, planned actions and results.
EE Pannonia aims to elaborate a joint Cross-Border Energy Efficiency Action Plan involving 9 Croatian and 9 Hungarian cities into joint EE analyses, with taking into consideration the opinion of the inhabitants. The cooperation will aid the implementation of energy certificates and provides professional support for the relevant national operative programmes.
The overall aim of the project is to establish a joint regional planning mechanism for the energy management of the border region, taking also into consideration the adequate RES technologies. Therefore the project contributes to the energy efficient management of the region and coaches the municipalities for the CSF programmes of the 2014-2020 period.
Afterwards the partners introduced their organisations. Ivan Šimić managing director of the Regional Energy Agency North talked about the operation of the Agency seated in Koprivnica. Sibila Jović, Acting Head of Department for European Projects and Economy of the City of Osijek introduced the current priorities and goals of the Municipality in the fields related to the project.
According to the focus of the project in the professional section of the conference János Kővári, President of the Committee for Development of Natural Human Resources of the Municipality of Pécs, talked about the objectives of the Energy Strategy of the Municipality of Pécs.
Good practices in energy efficiency of buildings in City of Koprivnica were introduced by Mario Perković, Head of Section of City of Koprivnica.
Damir Vrban, Deputy of the Head of Department of Department of Urban Planning and Construction, Municipal and Housing Economy, Traffic and Environmental Protection and local self-government, of City of Osijek informed the participants about the good practices of the Municipality in energy efficiency funded by CBC IPA HUHR.
In the afternoon section of the event the partners discussed the current issues and tasks of the project in a closed meeting.
